How to Play

To make a long story short, this is how you play:

  1. Create a Username and Password by clicking "Wanna Join?" on the homepage
  2. Create a Team Name (make it a good one) and either...
    • start your own league
    • join an existing league (using a league code)
    • don't do either of those things and automatically be a part of the global league
  3. Follow the instructions in the blog and in the My Account section of your homepage

See? That was easy. Only three steps.

To make a short story long, here are some more details:

Those tricky folks over at American Idol are always changing things up so it would be impossible to tell you the specific rules for the whole season. That is why it is very important to keep up with the blogs and your home page. But to give you an idea of what to expect, here are some of the traditional picks you will be making throughout the season:

  1. PRE-PERFORMANCE PICKS - Once we get past the Hollywood weeks, we will start ranking the contestants BEFORE they perform on a Tuesday night trying to predict who will be voted off - or voted in depending on what the format is. For example, when they narrow it down to the final 12 they will be voting one person off after the performances. So you would rank the contestants 1-12 giving 12 points to the person you thought was most likely to be voted off and one to the person you think is least likely to be voted off. These picks will be due before the performances start on Tuesday night. After the results show on Wednesday, you will be awarded the number of points that you assigned to the contestant that actually got voted off.
  2. BONUS PICKS - These picks will be made after the performances on Tuesday night and before the results show on Wednesday. The details might change throughout the season, but you will basically have points that you can assign to a few contestants based on their performances. You will be awarded any points you assigned to the person who actually gets voted off (or voted in).
  3. PREDICTION PICKS - There will be other prediction picks throughout the season to look out for. In the past, these picks have been made before Hollywood, right after Hollywood and when it is narrowed down to the final 12. It usually involves predicting who you think will win - or who you think the final three will be but there might be other categories as well - and that is why you need to PAY ATTENTION!
